2016 Series Sponsorship Opportunities
Seeking Sponsors for the 2016 Season: As 2016 begins, we have been busy planning for our 14th season of mountain bike racing here in Iowa. We are seeking local sponsors throughout Iowa to help us continue offering the very best mountain bike racing experience at a good value for all Iowans. The Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series is 100% run by volunteers. Any and all sponsorship support goes back into our series, the riders, and donations to our hosting trail organizations.
We experienced a 38% jump in participation numbers during the 2015 season over the prior year. In fact, we ended up with our second largest overall participation numbers in our history. We remain excited for the ongoing growth of the IMBCS as we have seen participation numbers grow from 345 participants in our first season back in 2003 to our current level of 1100-1200+ participants. Our sponsors help us deliver a family friendly series of events that continues to thrive in the state of Iowa. We accept sponsorships at all levels for the season.
If you or your business is interested in supporting the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series, please contact our Sponsorship Director – Rose Ayers at firstname.lastname@example.org or IMBCS Co-Director Bruce Brown at email@example.com for more information.
The IMBCS Marathon Series is now set for 2016.
Sugar Bottom’s Race Director, Mike Frasier, confirmed today that the date has now been set as May 22nd for the Special Event Marathon at Sugar Bottom. We will not hold one of our traditional XC race length races in conjunction on that particular date (instead – Sugar’s traditional length XC event will be held later in the season on August 21st).
This means that everyone who races XC and doesn’t normally participate in the marathon category has a chance to check out what it is like and have a go at a 4 hour event at Sugar Bottom.
Start training now!
We were able to schedule our five Marathon Events for 2016 with enough recovery time between events for racers to bounce back (3 weeks minimum between events). A special thank you to all of our 2016 Race Directors and their volunteer crews for agreeing to host one of these 4 hour Marathon events: Noel Kehrt, Mike Frasier, Dave Roll, IMBCS.org, and Bruce Brown.
IMBCS is excited to be hosting the Liberty Bell Cup at Whiterock Conservancy on the 4th of July Weekend this year. Plans are in the making for the two day mountain bike racing format event, a trail running race, camping, lodging, hog roast, barn dance, and fun for the entire family. This is one of our new events for the 2016 season and will be a feature destination mountain biking weekend as IMBCS celebrates its 14th Season. Can you think of a better way to celebrate Iowa’s newest trail system?
Now is the time to start planning your summer travels and vacation time, so mark this one down on your calendars. Racing will be on the 2nd and 3rd. Whether you arrive on July 1st, or the morning of July 2nd – it’s all good. And of course we encourage everyone to stay over on the 4th to enjoy a day at Whiterock Conservancy. There are plenty of things to do at Whiterock. Camping will be available for the weekend. If you don’t like to camp, you can book a room at THIS link. All of White Rock’s available rooms have been set aside for our mountain biking weekend. So book now to reserve your spot.
If you have not been to Whiterock outside of Coon Rapids, take a look at this video to get a better idea of Iowa’s newest singletrack. 13 miles of singletrack are completed and the final 3 miles will be built and finished by the time we race.
More details to come as the event organizers work together to develop this exciting new weekend of Iowa destination mountain biking!
