The month of August brings to IMBCS not a solo, not a duo, not a trio, but a quartet of races!
It almost seems hard to imagine the dirt is ready to ride and we have racing coming up this weekend. Especially after the rainfall amounts received in June and July caused the cancelation and subsequent rescheduling of three events. However, your local trail organizations have been out trimming and grooming trail the past few weeks to get things ready for riding and XC racing again. CITA has groomed Center Trails, CVAST has groomed George Wyth State Park, ICORR has groomed Sugar Bottom, and Adam Brooks along with Derek Brewer have both whipped Seven Oaks back into shape.
Some quartets are comprised of a soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Some are with two violins, a viola, and a cello. Our quartet includes a longer TT format on the new trails at Greenwood Park in Des Moines, a twisty flat course at George Wyth State Park in Waterloo, a perennial favorite at Sugar Bottom Recreation Area next to Coralville Lake, and hills a plenty at Seven Oaks Ski Area outside of Boone.
Get your mountain bikes ready to race because the heart of our season has arrived!
As always, IMBCS.org remains your hub of activity for the upcoming August…
