IMBCS and COVID-19

This is subject to change

3/18/2020

USAC has now cancelled all events through May 3rd, that now means that Sylvan, Squaw Creek and Sunderbruch are included. I’m in contact with respective Race Directors and we’re working on what this means.

3/15/2020 2nd Update:

Per a conference call with USAC all races up to and including April 5th are stopped, this means that the Sylvan Island Stampede is now being postponed to a date TBD. More updates for Sylvan here:

3/15/2020 Update:

USA CyclingUSAC has suspended all race permits through April 5th. Right now we are waiting on clarification if that suspension includes the 5th specifically. A conference call for later today will provide that clarification. Please check back for updates.

3/14/2020:

I have talked to IDPH as well as emailed the race directors. For now, until IDPH and/or another State or Local agency says we can’t gather the IMBCS schedule is still on track, the first race is April 5th at Sylvan Island.

However we are encouraging you to pre-register online and limit contact as much as possible when at the race. If you are feeling sick at all please do not attend the race, even as a spectator, stay home and rest.

As I said to the directors, I never though I’d be posting something like this, it’s all a bit surreal. Thank you for your understanding, especially if conditions change. I will update this post as soon as I have more information.

Attention, there is a series points change.

We will be making the Sugarbottom race(s) non-points paying so that we can award 2019 IMBCS Series Overall Winners at the Whiterock race this weekend. The minimum needed races to qualify will be reduced to reflect this, once the points are updated Michael Maney will post a link so you can see where you stand.

There are several racers that can qualify for a series prize if they race Saturday. Don’t pass up the potential of free entry to the 2020 season, get out to Whiterock and claim that card!

I want to give a big shoutout to Mike Frasier for his work on the Sugarbottom races and working with IMBCS to make this happen. When the reschedule happens lets all show up and have a great time at Sugarbottom!

I don’t know if we’ll be getting to ride Flowy McFlowface or not but it will still be worth checking out Beverly’s new wooden berm ride!

Can’t wait to see you all there!

Sugar Cubed Marathon is postponed to October 19th

Well, this spring/summer is not playing nice to us dirt trail riders. Sugarbottom is just staying too wet for the Sugar Cubed Marathon to happen in June. So we’re going to go for a fall race and ride it in October. Now this might be one of the latest races IMBCS has seen, but fall is perfect for mountain biking.

Mother Nature is a harsh mistress. Due to over 2″ of rain in the last 24hrs ICORR has postponed the race until June 16th. Now we all have more time to get ready to go backwards on some of the most highly regarded trails in the state!

I hope to see you all there!
